About Bobby Connor

Built on Passion. Backed by Craft.

Northwoods Firearms is Bobby Connor's shop — a one-man operation built on a lifelong love of firearms, precision craftsmanship, and the northwoods of Wisconsin.

From the Northwoods, For the Northwoods.

Bobby Connor opened Northwoods Firearms in Crandon, WI in July 2020 with a simple mission: give Wisconsin gun owners access to professional-grade gunsmithing, finishing, and custom work without having to drive hours to a big city.

Growing up in the northwoods, Bobby developed a deep respect for firearms — as tools, as heirlooms, and as works of craftsmanship. That respect drives every job that comes through the shop, whether it's a $50 cleaning or a full custom build.

Today, Northwoods Firearms is the go-to shop for hunters, sport shooters, and collectors across Forest County and beyond. Bobby handles every job personally — no outsourcing, no shortcuts.

The Connor Legacy

Pioneering Timber, Building Communities, and Shaping Northern Wisconsin

01

The Connor name has been woven into the fabric of Northern Wisconsin for generations. Long before Northwoods Firearms opened its doors in Crandon, the Connor family was already leaving a permanent mark on the land and the people of this region — through timber, through enterprise, and through an unwavering commitment to the communities they helped build.

02

The Connors were among the pioneering families who recognized that the great northwoods could be harvested responsibly — that sustainability and prosperity were not opposing forces, but partners. At a time when many timber operations stripped the land and moved on, the Connor family took a different approach: invest in the land, invest in the towns, and invest in the people who called this corner of Wisconsin home.

03

Towns across Northern Wisconsin bear the fingerprints of Connor enterprise — from the mills that gave communities their economic footing, to the infrastructure and civic investment that helped small northwoods towns grow into the places they are today. The Connor family didn't just pass through this region. They planted roots here, and those roots run deep.

04

That legacy of stewardship and pride in Wisconsin enterprise carries forward to this day. Bobby Connor opened Northwoods Firearms in Crandon in 2020 as the latest chapter in that story — a skilled trade business built on craftsmanship, honesty, and a deep respect for the northwoods way of life. The tools change, but the values don't.

The Four Pillars

Timber Sustainability

Pioneered responsible logging practices in Northern Wisconsin at a time when conservation was rare in the industry.

Community Building

Invested in the towns and infrastructure of Northern Wisconsin, helping shape communities that still thrive today.

Wisconsin Enterprise

The Connor family continues to take pride in Wisconsin-based businesses and enterprises across the northwoods region.

Generational Roots

From timber to gunsmithing, each generation carries forward the same commitment to craft, land, and community.

We didn't just work the northwoods — we built a life here, and we're proud of every part of it.
